How To Apply Foundation

Applying foundation correctly is very important, it will effect how all of your makeup looks and if you start with a bad foundation there really isn’t much you can do to fix it. So the best thing to do is do it right.

You have to take in all those makeup tips that have been floating around for years. The most important tip is to have a color that matches your skin tone. The whole purpose of makeup is to enhance your features. You want to look like you are almost not wearing makeup, not walk around like a circus clown. If you choose the

How to apply foundation:

First of all you will want to wash your hands and face fully and then apply moisturizer. Let that dry for a few minutes before continuing. Once your face is fully dry you can move on.

Shake the foundation bottle well and then apply some to either a sponge or to the tip of your finger and put several dots around your face such as on your chin, nose cheeks and forehead. Then use the sponge or makeup brush to spread the foundation. Evenly spread the foundation around your face taking great care that you don’t leave a noticeable “line” especially near the jaw line or the forehead.

Then use loose powder to set the foundation after you are satisfied with the application, be careful not to use too much, just enough to set it. This can be a necessity to reapply for those who tend to be on the oily side, after a while you may get shiny again. If so, reapply powder as needed.

Other Tips:

When understanding how to apply foundation, you should know you do not necessarily have to apply foundation all over your face. You can spot check certain areas that are troublesome or cover up blemishes, as long as it is easily blended into your face then you do not have to go with full coverage every time if you do not wish to do so.

Remember to clean your makeup brush or sponge after use so the foundation to ensure future use without problems.

Pressed powder is great for people who need to reapply powder often throughout the day as it has better coverage then loose powder. As with the loose powder, you still need to be careful not to apply to much as it can be noticeable, just enough to take out the shine.

Using a makeup brush over a sponge is advisable as it generally spreads the foundation more evenly. It also does not soak up as much foundation so you will get more out of a bottle with a brush versus a sponge. It is necessary to clean it after every use or the brush can become ruined. Plus if you do need to reapply foundation later in the day a brush is 10x more convenient then breaking out the sponge again.
